Freeport team at Anglesey Show 2026

August 2026

Anglesey Freeport held its inaugural Board meeting last Friday, marking an important milestone following the Freeport’s formal establishment.

The Freeport’s partners Isle of Anglesey County Council, Stena Line, Bangor University, M-SParc, Grŵp Llandrillo Menai, Morlais and Ambition North Wales came together to discuss the next steps for Anglesey Freeport as it moves forward with delivery. Thank you to the Welsh and UK Governments for their support in reaching this important stage.

The meeting provided an opportunity for partners to look ahead to the next phase and discuss how they can continue working together to maximise the opportunities that Anglesey Freeport presents for Anglesey and North Wales.
With the Freeport now formally established, the focus remains on delivering our vision of creating up to 5,000 new jobs, growing the Anglesey and North Wales economy, as well as protecting the Welsh language and culture.
